AMI'S STORY
WARNING this story contains swear words.
Chloe stood at the top of the park, her body feeling tense and stiff. Today was not doing her any favours, her persistance on the medium line should of won her medals but she still couldn't clear that knuckle. She turned around and looked at the chair lift as it deposited more brightly coloured skiers and snowboarders all eager to prove themselves to one another on who could go bigger. Instinctively Chloe pulled her goggles down and her bandanna up, she didn't want to be noticed. If she had it her way she would be able to disappear against the harsh white of the snow.

Waddling to the edge of the run in she looked down at the perfectly shaped kickers and bright blue rails. Enviously watching the bright soldiers of the Park making everything look so easy. She was longing to be away from all of this, in the back country feeling her board gliding through champagne powder. However it hadn't snowed in 3 weeks and the pistes were just to crowded and mogulled up to enjoy just cruising around. So here she was trying to join the band of park rats, the trouble was it didn't do anything for her.

Switching her ipod onto metallica, she rode down to the run in for the first medium kicker. Or her nemisis, she would do it this time just need more speed. She took a deep breath, feeling the butterflys in her stomach. 'Oh you silly girl' she thought 'stop being so stupid you have done it and crashed about 20 times today'.

Chloe pushed herself into the run in, pumping the board, she was gathering speed fast, the thought 'don't speed check, don't speed check' spinning through her head. She sped towards the kicker it getting bigger and bigger, straightening her legs as she went up the ramp getting ready to pop, she took off.

'Fuck fuck fuck too fast too fast' She knew she had messed it up mid air when she realised she was upside down 'Oh god my head' She tried to tuck her body in waiting for impact. With a soft thud she landed on the top of her back, her hat and goggles flying off her head.

Once realising she wasn't hurt, Chloe felt a rush of embarassment move through her body, sitting up and pulling her binding straps off quickly, and ran back up the landing to gather her hat and goggles. Feeling her faced exposed she realised her goggles were filled with snow, so she quickly out her board back on and rode in shame back to the lift.

This wasn't her she thought, she was a good snowboarder who had more style off piste and on piste than any of these testosterone filled idiots. But she was on their territory here and it fustrated her that she was not and would never be at their standard simply because she just wasn't into it.

Sitting on the wooden rail next the lift she tried in vain to dry her goggles, the problem was that goggles once wet were garanteed to fog up and forgetting to bring and dry cloth or tissues up with her, drying them with your sweaty gloves were not a good idea. Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder, jumping she spun round to see who was trying to get her attention. Instantly recognising the bright blue trousers and baggy black jacket
